Doses studied in research Animal or lab studies only
What was given to people (or animals) in published studies and official labels, each linked to its source. This is not a recommendation: study products, purity and supervision differ from research-grade vials.
Animal studies: Rodent studies used, for example, 1 microgram per mouse subcutaneously for 5 days each month (HER-2/neu mice, where Vilon increased mammary cancer; PMID 12209581), 1 mg/kg in mice with transplanted tumors (PMID 14743610), 10 micrograms/kg in mice given a colon carcinogen (PMID 16308980) and 50 micrograms per rat (PMID 17152729).
Small Russian clinical reports in diabetes and colorectal cancer patients (PMIDs 17152731, 18306698, 16075684) do not state the doses given. Doses in animal studies do not translate directly to people. Not an approved drug.
What the research says
Vilon (Lys-Glu dipeptide) has been studied almost exclusively by Russian groups, mainly in rodents and cell cultures. The human data are small, mostly uncontrolled Russian-language reports (diabetes, cancer, goitre, appendicitis, periodontitis) that lack controls or statistics, so no benefit is established; animal findings are mixed, including more breast cancer in one transgenic mouse study.

Vilon: questions people ask
What is Vilon?
Russian short-peptide bioregulator. One of the Khavinson "bioregulator" peptides from Russian aging research, marketed for the thymus and immune system. Evidence comes mainly from Russian cell and animal studies.
How much does Vilon cost?
The cheapest Vilon from an independently tested vendor is $0.475 per mg (Andy Peps Studio, VI20 Vilon 20mg * 10 vials, $95.00). Across 16 listings from 16 vendors the median is $2.20 per mg.
Where can I buy Vilon?
16 vendors tested by Finnrick sell Vilon. The cheapest per mg right now: Andy Peps Studio ($0.475), Baohua Dongnuo Biotechnology BHD ($0.475), LN Peptides ($0.475). 3 of them publish a lab report (COA) for Vilon; compare lab scores and reports in the table above before buying.
How much bacteriostatic water for 20 mg of Vilon?
Adding 2 mL of bacteriostatic water to a 20 mg vial of Vilon gives 10 mg/mL: each 10 units on a U-100 insulin syringe holds 1,000 mcg. With 1 mL it's 20 mg/mL (2,000 mcg per 10 units); with 3 mL, 6.667 mg/mL (666.7 mcg per 10 units). More water makes small amounts easier to measure. Mixing charts: 20 mg.
Is Vilon FDA approved?
Sold as a supplement in Russia; not approved in the US. Research use only.
Can Vilon be compounded in the US?
Not an FDA-approved drug and not nominated for FDA's 503A bulks list, so US pharmacies can't legally compound it. Compounding status for every peptide.
