Doses studied in research Animal or lab studies only
What was given to people (or animals) in published studies and official labels, each linked to its source. This is not a recommendation: study products, purity and supervision differ from research-grade vials.
Animal studies: Studied only in cancer cell lines (micromolar concentrations) and a few mouse tumor models; the abstracts do not report mg/kg doses.
No human studies of PNC-27 were found, so no studied human doses exist. Not an approved drug.
What the research says
PNC-27 (a p53-derived HDM-2-binding peptide fused to a penetratin sequence) has been studied only in cancer cell lines and a few mouse tumor models; there are no published human trials. Most of the work comes from a single research group.

-
Chondroitin sulfate as a molecular portal that preferentially mediates the apoptotic killing of tumor cells by penetratin-directed mitochondria-disrupting peptides.Cells / labIn vitro comparison of PNC27 with engineered peptides carrying different cell-penetrating leaders
In an independent-group cell study, PNC27 killed tumor cells at IC50 values 2-3 times lower than in normal cells, but swapping its penetratin leader for other cell-penetrating peptides removed that selectivity; chondroitin sulfate on tumor cells helped entry.
Key resultIC50 values of PNC27 in tumor cells were 2-3 times lower than in normal cells
Study details
- Studied
- Human tumor cell lines and normal cells
- Compared with
- Normal cells and peptides with other leader sequences
- Main outcome
- IC50 cytotoxicity in tumor vs normal cells; chondroitin sulfate dependence
- Authors' conclusion
- The leader peptide penetratin contributes to the preferential cytotoxicity of Antp-directed peptides, and chondroitin sulfate overexpression on tumor cells is an important molecular portal.

- Cell lines only; selectivity was modest (2-3 fold) and depended on the penetratin leader.
-

PNC-27: questions people ask
What is PNC-27?
Anti-cancer research peptide. A fragment of the p53 tumor-suppressor protein joined to a cell-penetrating sequence; in lab studies it punches holes in cancer-cell membranes.
How much does PNC-27 cost?
The cheapest PNC-27 from an independently tested vendor is $0.900 per mg (Uther, PNC-27 30mg (10 Vials / Kit), $270.00). Across 27 listings from 21 vendors the median is $8.75 per mg.
Where can I buy PNC-27?
21 vendors tested by Finnrick sell PNC-27. The cheapest per mg right now: Uther ($0.900), Hangzhou Youngpeptide Biotechnology HYB ($1.05), Huatai Peptide ($1.74). 2 of them publish a lab report (COA) for PNC-27; compare lab scores and reports in the table above before buying.
How much bacteriostatic water for 5 mg of PNC-27?
Adding 2 mL of bacteriostatic water to a 5 mg vial of PNC-27 gives 2.5 mg/mL: each 10 units on a U-100 insulin syringe holds 250 mcg. With 1 mL it's 5 mg/mL (500 mcg per 10 units); with 3 mL, 1.667 mg/mL (166.7 mcg per 10 units). More water makes small amounts easier to measure. Mixing charts: 5 mg, 10 mg, 20 mg, 30 mg.
Is PNC-27 FDA approved?
Not approved. Lab research only.
Can PNC-27 be compounded in the US?
Not an FDA-approved drug and not nominated for FDA's 503A bulks list, so US pharmacies can't legally compound it. Compounding status for every peptide.
Does PNC-27 work? What does the research say?
Evidence grade C (mostly animal studies), from 10 papers: No human trials; evidence is cancer cell-line work plus a few mouse tumor studies, mostly from the developer's group. PNC-27 (a p53-derived HDM-2-binding peptide fused to a penetratin sequence) has been studied only in cancer cell lines and a few mouse tumor models; there are no published human trials. Most of the work comes from a single research group. See the papers.
What dose of PNC-27 was used in studies?
PNC-27 is tested only in animals or cells. Studied only in cancer cell lines (micromolar concentrations) and a few mouse tumor models; the abstracts do not report mg/kg doses. These are amounts used in published studies or official labels, not a recommendation.
