Q: How much bacteriostatic water for 10 mg of BPC-157?

Adding 2 mL of bacteriostatic water to a 10 mg vial of BPC-157 gives 5 mg/mL: each 10 units on a U-100 insulin syringe holds 500 mcg. With 1 mL it's 10 mg/mL (1,000 mcg per 10 units); with 3 mL, 3.333 mg/mL (333.3 mcg per 10 units). More water makes small amounts easier to measure. Mixing charts: 5 mg, 10 mg, 15 mg, 20 mg, 40 mg.

Q: Does BPC-157 work? What does the research say?

Evidence grade C (mostly animal studies), from 13 papers: No controlled human trials, only three tiny uncontrolled pilots and a chart survey; the evidence is mainly rat studies, largely from one research group. Evidence for BPC-157 comes almost entirely from rat and other animal studies, many from a single research group, showing faster healing of tendon, muscle, gut and skin injuries. Human data are limited to three small uncontrolled pilot reports (knee pain, interstitial cystitis, IV safety in 2 people); there are no published randomized controlled trials. See the papers.

Q: What dose of BPC-157 was used in studies?

BPC-157 is studied in people. women with moderate to severe interstitial cystitis unresponsive to pentosan polysulfate (uncontrolled pilot): 10 mg total, injected around inflamed areas of the bladder wall single procedure; healthy adults (IV safety pilot): 10 mg on day 1, then 20 mg on day 2, each in 250 cc saline one infusion per day on 2 days. These are amounts used in published studies or official labels, not a recommendation.

Q: What are the side effects of BPC-157?

Reported in the research: Neuropsychiatric events (preprint, LLM-curated clinical notes); Injection-site hypersensitivity (preprint, LLM-curated clinical notes); Gastrointestinal events (preprint, LLM-curated clinical notes). No adverse events were reported in three small uncontrolled human pilot studies (about 30 people in total); a 2026 preprint of 1,039 real-world users found infrequently noted adverse events (about 1-1.4% each) with likely under-reporting. There are no controlled human safety data, and products sold outside regulated channels may vary in purity.

Animal studies: Rat studies typically used 10 micrograms/kg (down to 10 ng/kg and 10 pg/kg) once daily by intraperitoneal injection (e.g. PMID 14554208); dog toxicology went up to 2 mg/kg (PMID 32334036).

Human data are three small uncontrolled reports; a knee-injection chart review (PMID 34324435) did not state doses. Doses in animal studies do not translate directly to people. Not an approved drug.

Evidence for BPC-157 comes almost entirely from rat and other animal studies, many from a single research group, showing faster healing of tendon, muscle, gut and skin injuries. Human data are limited to three small uncontrolled pilot reports (knee pain, interstitial cystitis, IV safety in 2 people); there are no published randomized controlled trials.
